Our Approach

At Whispering Soul, our approach to equine-assisted learning is experiential, collaborative and grounded in connection.

EFL sessions are offered to individuals, families and small groups. Sessions are designed to promote personal growth, skill development and meaningful learning through hands-on interaction with horses in a safe, supportive environment.

  • Equine-Facilitated Learning is an experiential approach that uses interactions with horses to build skills like communication, teamwork, leadership and self-awareness.

Participants learn by engaging directly with horses in structured activities, reflecting on their experiences and applying insights to real-life situations. EFL focuses on growth, problem-solving and personal development rather than traditional therapy.

  • Each EFL session begins with a grounding exercise and a discussion of your session goals, whether for personal growth, emotional resilience or team-building. You’ll then engage in hands-on activities with the horse, focusing on subtle cues that help you notice patterns in your feelings and behaviors. Guided reflection follows, connecting your experiences with real-life situations and the session concludes with strategies to integrate insights and skills into your daily life for lasting growth.

  • Equine-Facilitated Learning (EFL) may be right for you if you are seeking a hands-on experiential approach to personal growth outside of traditional settings.

Through ground-based activities with horses, EFL will focus on building self-confidence, emotional regulation, communication and teamwork, while increasing self-awareness and practical skills that can be applied to everyday life.
