Nicole Donovan, MS

Founder, Pre-Licensed Therapist

  • Nicole Donovan is the Founder of Whispering Soul Equine Healing and a pre-licensed professional therapist. She holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Shippensburg University and has extensive experience supporting individuals in community mental health settings, including those navigating trauma, substance use and complex mental health challenges.

    Nicole’s approach blends trauma-informed care with somatic therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Gestalt therapy. She has witnessed firsthand how partnering with horses can foster deep emotional insight, regulation and transformation.

    When she’s not working with clients, Nicole enjoys hiking, spending time with her dogs and caring for the horses on the farm. She is passionate about creating a restorative space where individuals can reconnect with themselves, build resilience and explore new paths forward.

Ava Mowery

Equine Specialist

  • Ava is the Equine Specialist at Whispering Soul Equine Healing. A lifelong equestrian, she brings years of hands-on experience and a deep love for horses to the program. She holds a bachelor’s degree in human communication studies and has been mentored by leading equestrian professionals. From competing at the upper levels of the hunter ring to training and developing green horses, Ava’s life has been shaped by horses and the lessons they teach.

    Her approach to horsemanship is grounded in partnership and respect, focusing on creating meaningful connections that allow both horse and human to grow together. Ava is passionate about guiding clients to discover confidence, personal growth and a lasting bond with the horses at Whispering Soul.
